The checklist includes island bosses, the ending, and post-game challenges. The objective summaries stay short, but names can still reveal encounters.
Finish the story first
Most cleanup is easier after the credits, when all five islands are open and your endgame gear carries over. Avoid grinding collection and trick-shot achievements during the main route.
Keep Bean separate
Use a separate save for the under-one-hour Bean route. Community strategies have changed across early patches, so treat older shortcuts as version-specific.
Pair related goals
A fully burned mini-boss can satisfy the two eating achievements. The casino goals can also be combined when a valuable cooked catch lands on green.

Complete the five islands
Focus on quest hand-ins, engine upgrades, inventory capacity, and one reliable weapon. Story achievements such as Dinnertime, Vacation, Terrorizing bird, Deadliest catch, and We are so back arrive naturally when the final items are returned.
Unlock the encyclopedia gaps
Press Tab and compare regular catches with Drip variants. Collector needs every creature; Fishipedia needs the Drip set. A Drip uses the same bait as its regular species, so work island by island instead of changing lures randomly.
Clean up combat challenges
Use post-game weapons for Easy, 360 no scope, Noob, Impressive, Everyone's dream, and Handyman. Open islands and endgame damage make the trick-shot goals much less expensive than forcing them during the story.
Combine cooking and casino goals
Burn a mini-boss fully before eating it to pair Yummy in my tummy with Competitive eating. For All in and Rich! Millionaire, lava-cook a high-value Island 5 catch and reserve it for the green 35x payout rather than making many small bets.
Bean needs its own save and practice plan.
The early final-island skip was patched in 1.0.5. Use a legitimate five-island route, target Island 4 around the 30-32 minute mark, and preserve enough time for both whale fights.

The encyclopedia tracks each creature and Drip variant independently. Check it after every island and keep a written or browser checklist so one low-tier catch does not force a complete late-game sweep.
